Lately, breakfast has been slipping away from most of our lives but personally, I belong to team breakfast and I would never miss it for anything so it’s quite natural that I make little changes to my breakfast recipes when they are part of my routine only to make sure I’m not bored with the same food one such regular yet different recipe is this tomato poha and I’m going to show it to you guys now so why wait let’s get started and check it out.

Ingredients To Make Tomato Poha

Poha – 2 Cups
Peanuts – 1/4 Cup
Oil – 3 Tbsp
Urad Dal – 2 Tsp
Chana Dal – 2 Tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1 Tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1 Tsp
Asafoetida Powder
Onion – 1 No.
Green Chilli – 2 Nos
Ginger
Tomato Puree (3 Nos Tomato )
Curry Leaves
Turmeric Powder -1/4 Tsp
Chilli Powder – 2 Tsp
Salt – 1 Tsp
Coriander Leaves
Ghee – 1 Tsp (Optional )

Method:

1. Wash the Poha a few times, drain the water, and keep the poha aside.

 

2. Take oil in a pan, add peanuts, and roast them until they are golden brown in color. Keep them aside.


3. Add oil to the same pan, add urad dal, chana dal, mustard seeds, and cumin seeds, and saute for a few seconds.


4. Add in hing and saute until the mustard seeds start splattering.
5. Then add chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, and curry leaves and mix it all well.


6. Add in the puree made from 3 tomatoes and cook for masala for 3 mins.


7. To the gravy, add turmeric powder and red chili powder. Mix well and cook until the moisture completely evaporates.


8. Add in salt and mix. Add in poha and mix.


9. Once the gravy is all nicely absorbed by poha in 3-4 mins, add the roasted peanuts, chopped coriander, and ghee at last. Mix it all well.

10. Yummy Tomato Poha is ready to be servedhot and nice as it is or any coconut chutney by the side.
